Guiding families to the support they need
Starting a new life in a different country can be overwhelming. From housing and healthcare to school enrollment and legal paperwork, knowing where to begin is often the hardest part. That’s where our Resource Navigation program comes in.
Through one-on-one support, Spokane Slavic Association helps individuals and families connect with the services they need to stabilize and thrive. We don’t just hand out referrals — we walk with you through the process.
How We Help
- One-on-one support to understand your unique needs
- Step-by-step guidance on how to access resources
- Ongoing follow-up and check-ins when needed
Housing & Financial Support
- Help applying for rental assistance and affordable housing
- Utility assistance referrals
- Guidance on budgeting and financial planning
Healthcare & Social Services
- Help finding doctors, clinics, and mental health providers
- Support applying for Medicaid or low-income insurances
- Connections to food banks, child care, and public benefit
Legal & Government Paperwork
- Help completing important forms (ID, benefits, immigration)
- Translation and interpretation in Russian or Ukrainian
- Appointments with legal aid partners when appropriate
School and Youth Services
- Help enrolling children in school
- Connections to after-school programs
- Guidance on school transportation and parent-teacher communication


Who We Serve
Our Resource Navigation program is open to anyone who needs help understanding and accessing support systems in Spokane County. We primarily assist Slavic-speaking immigrants and refugees but welcome individuals from all backgrounds.
Why It Matters
Finding the right help can be confusing and intimidating—especially in a new language or unfamiliar system. Our team provides not only information, but real support rooted in cultural understanding, trust, and compassion.
