Who we are

Mission & Vision

Spokane Slavic Association is guided by a clear purpose: helping people access the resources and opportunities they need to move toward greater stability, independence, and success.

Our mission

Our Mission

Facilitating pathways to self-sufficiency through accessible resources and support.

Our mission reflects the role SSA seeks to play in the community.

We recognize that the path toward self-sufficiency looks different for every person. For some, it may begin with access to clothing, food resources, language assistance, or help navigating unfamiliar systems. For others, it may involve finding employment, developing new skills, starting a business, strengthening their family, or connecting with the community.

SSA works to make these resources and opportunities more accessible and to help people take the next step forward.

Our vision

Our Vision

A world where access to resources empowers every person's journey to success.

Our vision is built on the belief that people are better positioned to succeed when they can access the right resources, information, connections, and opportunities.

Success does not look the same for everyone. It may mean greater stability, meaningful employment, a growing business, stronger family connections, increased confidence, or the ability to contribute to the community.

SSA works toward a community where people have opportunities to move forward and build the future that is right for them.

How it comes together

From Immediate Support to Greater Self-Sufficiency

Our mission and vision come together through a simple pathway:

1Immediate Need 2Stabilization 3Navigation 4Opportunity 5Greater Self-Sufficiency

SSA may meet someone at any point along this pathway.

Sometimes our role is to respond to an immediate need. Sometimes it is to help someone understand available resources or connect with another organization. At other times, it is to create opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, education, family engagement, or community participation.

The goal is not simply to provide assistance, but to help create pathways that allow people to continue moving forward.

Help Us Build More Pathways to Opportunity

Our mission is strengthened by the people and organizations that participate in it—from community members and volunteers to businesses, donors, funders, and community partners.
